Waco Woolly Wranglers Name Brett Lander General Manager
Waco, TX — The Waco Woolly Wranglers are proud to announce Brett Lander as the organization’s General Manager, bringing a strong passion for baseball, player development, and deep local roots to the franchise.
Lander steps into the role with a clear vision of building a program that represents Waco with pride both on and off the field.
“What excites me most is the opportunity to build something special,” said Lander. “Not just on the field, but within the community as well. The Cowboy Collegiate League is a great platform for player development, and leading a team that represents Waco is something I take seriously. There’s a lot of potential here, and I’m excited to create a culture that players, fans, and the community can all be proud of.”
Fans can expect a competitive and entertaining brand of baseball throughout the summer. “We’re going to be a team that plays hard, plays the game the right way, and competes every single night,” Lander said. “We’re focused on bringing in high-character players who love the game and represent Waco well. At the same time, we want the ballpark experience to be fun, energetic, and something families can look forward to all summer long.”
For Lander, the opportunity was about more than just baseball, it was about impact. “This stood out to me because it’s about building something from the ground up and making a difference,” he said. “I’ve always had a passion for the game and being part of a team environment, and this role allows me to combine that with growing the game in a great community like Waco. It just felt like the right place at the right time.”
A native of West, Texas, just outside of Waco, Lander has long-standing ties to the area he now represents. Growing up, he was a multi-sport athlete, but baseball remained a constant throughout his life. His continued involvement in the game as both a player and coach has helped shape his approach to leadership and team building.
“I’m passionate about developing players, competing at a high level, and creating an environment where guys can grow both on and off the field,” Lander said.
With his local connection, dedication to the game, and commitment to building a strong culture, Lander is poised to lead the Waco Woolly Wranglers into an exciting new era.
The Woolly Wranglers look forward to bringing high-energy baseball and a strong sense of community pride to Waco this season.
